OK, so it’s not exactly mecha. It is based off a Mecha series, and it does feature a mechanized platoon of cuddly mascots. “Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu” is based of a series called “Full Metal Panic!” I’m actually doing the series backwards. Technically, it goes FMP!, FMP?, followed by FMP! TSR. I just recently put FMP! in my queue at Netflix. Anywho, Fumoffu is the sound the cuddly little mech up top emits whenever he says anything. He may be loosely based on Domo-Kun. The plot remains the same. The focus of the story, Kaname Chidori, has psychic powers, and is threatened by government forces. Although they are never revealed in the story, it is assumed that you know this from watching FMP!, first. Fumoffu is a romanticized version centering on the “love story between Chidori and Souske Sagara. The comedic element comes from Souske’s cluelessness, being a strict military man. Once the story starts, it’s a bit like Porky’s with some tech thrown in. Everything from high school fights to germ warfarm is covered. It is a great series, and I can’t wait to watch the rest of the FMP series. After watching the first episode of FMP!, I will say that it should be no less fun.

It’s been some time since I watch FMP!Fumoffu. Still one of my favourite animes, even more than the original FMP! series.
